Our buying signals analysis covered the 215 companies we provided in our Brand Picks and Pulse alerts in 2022 on those worth pitching now due to a timely hook or buying signal.

The analysis revealed the most popular sectors covered and the most common types of buying signals. It also identified particular hotspots in terms of which sectors feature more heavily for particular buying signals.

In terms of master sectors, Food & Beverage companies were the most common identified through buying signals (45) followed by Financial Services (32) and Retail (31). In terms of sub-sectors, Alcohol came out on top (19) ahead of Food (15) and Clothing/Apparel Retailers and Software companies (both 14).

The most common type of buying signal identified was geographic expansion (51 instances), funding/investment (41), product launches and marketing activity (both 40). 

The buying signals analysis revealed particular hotspots in terms of signals for particular master sectors such as 19 marketing activity-related buying signals involved Food & Beverage companies, while 14 funding/investment signals involved Financial Services companies and 13 product launch buying signals involved Food & Beverage companies.

Various companies covered in our Brand Picks and Pulse alerts went on to do their first sponsorship after being covered , with many more set to follow…

  • Fuel Hub, a UK-based meal prep start-up that delivers healthy meals to sports teams and elite athletes, went on to sponsor the Rugby League World Cup.
  • Logistics company Huboo went on to become principal partner and shirt sponsor across five teams within the Bristol Sport stable and became the official e-commerce partner and merchandiser for Bath Rugby club.
  • Synergie Skin went on to become the official skincare partner of Australian Fashion Week 2022.
  • London-based cryptocurrency start-up BVNK went on to sponsor British driver Ruairi Bell in the 2022 British Rally Championship.
  • Plant-based drinks brand Plenish went on to partner with Le Cordon Bleu chef Ravneet Gill to assign her as the new face of the brand.
  • Software Group Qualitest went on to sponsor the 2022 International Legal Technology Association annual conference.
